Cire Trudon of France
Nothing lights a room quite like candlelight, and nothing warms the soul more than knowing a company which has been in production for hundreds of years is still going strong today.
Cire Trudon of France has roots dating back to the middle of the 17th century and have been recorded as 'candlers' since 1643. By the early 18th century, they were lighting the court of Louis VX and their illustrious career continued through the decades, illuminating the Imperial Court when Napoleon I was crowned in 1811.
Not even the invention and subsequent success of household electricity in the late 19th century halted the companies progress. Even today, it is widely recognised as a manufacturer of luxury scented candles, and exquisite wax busts.
With stores in Paris, New York and London whilst also distributing through such famous names as Liberty and Selfridges, it's likely they will be around for many more years to come.
